Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Airborne Sensor RF Design team. You will focus on mechanical packaging, layout, and integration of RF electronics, using CREO CAD modeling and GD&T.

You will work with cross-functional teams, perform tolerance studies, participate in design reviews, and document work to program standards. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, with exposure to CREO and Windchill beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required by start date.
• Exposure to CAD modeling tools (CREO Parametric preferred).
• Ability to apply engineering principles to technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed mechanical designs using CREO.
• Create engineering drawings, apply GD&T, and ensure Windchill configuration accuracy.
• Support packaging, layout, and integration of electronic and mechanical subassemblies.
• Perform tolerance studies and basic structural considerations under guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in hardware builds, design reviews, peer reviews, and product improvements.
• Support failure investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EE, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering.
• Document work per program standards.
