Job summary

Leidos invites a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer (TS/SCI) to join a long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform contract in Bethesda, MD. You will design, develop, and maintain Python microservices, deploy in Kubernetes, and interface with Kafka and Elasticsearch in a data-centric cloud-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a Polygraph.
• Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask).
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with ETL, Linux/bas h scripting, RESTful APIs, and microservice architecture.
• Hands-on Kubernetes deployment, monitoring, and debugging of services.
• Strong collaboration skills and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices.
• Implement message consumers and producers with Apache Kafka.
• Integrate with Elasticsearch for real-time and batch data indexing and querying.
• Write unit and integration tests with high code coverage.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy services in Kubernetes clusters.
• Participate in design reviews, architecture planning, and code reviews.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues with observability tools.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
