Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Engineer – Propulsion in Tucson, AZ to lead propulsion system development for missiles and space vehicles. You will coordinate with development and production teams, manage subcontractors, and present technical directions to management and government customers.

Requires a STEM degree with 8+ years in propulsion tech, solid propulsion and CFD experience. U.S. citizenship and an active clearance are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM and 8 years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years propulsion tech experience for solid or air-breathing systems.
• Ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced propulsion tech to systems for missiles and space vehicles.
• Collaborate across development and production programs with Raytheon lines.
• Review manufacturing processes; work with subcontractors on propulsion systems.
• Partner with management on long-range tech research and capabilities direction.
• Manage propulsion development projects and subcontracts; review data/changes.
• Deliver technical presentations to management and government.
• Interface with customers to identify user needs.
• Travel internationally to provide supplier support.
