Job summary

RTX Corporation’s Energetics and Propulsion Department in Tucson seeks a Principal Engineer – Propulsion to lead advanced propulsion system development for missile and space vehicles. You will manage propulsion programs, coordinate with suppliers, and present technical capabilities to management and government.

Applicants must hold a STEM degree with eight years of experience or an advanced degree with five years of experience, and be able to obtain/maintain a US security clearance; willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM and 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience
• Eight (8) years of experience in propulsion technology and its application to solid or air breathing propulsion systems
• Experience in development of solid propulsion systems from conceptual design through final test/assembly
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Apply or develop advanced propulsion technologies for systems integration in missiles and space vehicles
• Collaborate with development and production programs across Raytheon product lines
• Review manufacturing processes and work with subcontractors on solid rocket motor propulsion systems
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to management and government
• Travel as needed, including internationally, to support supplier activities
