VIA, based near Boston, seeks a Principal Product Designer to own end-to-end UX/UI for AI-driven security platforms. You will partner with Design, Product, and Engineering to translate complex architectures into intuitive experiences in high-stakes environments.

The role emphasizes secure-by-default patterns, collaboration across multi-user workflows, and leadership to scale the design function while delivering human-centered, trusted interfaces.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product design experience in complex enterprise or technical domains (AI platforms, cybersecurity, identity, or data-intensive systems).
• Technical fluency to read system architecture and influence product direction with engineering constraints.
• Agentic and collaborative workflow experience with multi-user/shared state designs.
• Strategic curiosity to uncover hidden problems in high-stakes environments.
• Systemic thinking for designing complex workflows and security-focused systems.
• Strong visual design sensibility for clear, crafted interfaces.
• Design leadership and mentorship to scale the team and processes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end UX/UI design across VIA's product suite, including AI-native platforms and data collaboration environments.
• Translate high-level workflows into low-fidelity mockups to guide engineering and reduce ambiguity.
• Design secure-by-default interaction patterns around data visibility and access control.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate tradeoffs and influence roadmap direction.
• Lead strategic design for data-driven platforms with cohesive workflows and scalable systems.
• Partner with Engineering to align on backend logic and implement complex features.
• Translate technical requirements and security constraints into clear product concepts.
• Transition from strategy and wireframes to prototypes, components, and UI copy.
• Champion responsible AI as part of human-centered design workstreams.
• Establish design patterns and principles for long-term consistency.
