Ladders is seeking a Principal Product Designer, DX to shape end-to-end developer experience across a complex product ecosystem. You will partner with product and engineering leaders to influence strategy, prioritize the roadmap, and turn technical complexity into intuitive, scalable experiences.

Lead research, drive data-informed design decisions, and leverage AI to prototype and contribute to production work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product design for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Deep expertise in data-driven B2B SaaS with analytics focus.
• Strong skills in interaction design, IA, and data visualization.

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Product Designer, DX to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will shape the end-to-end experience vision for developer experience initiatives, bringing clarity and coherence across a complex product ecosystem. You will partner closely with product and engineering leadership to influence strategy, prioritize the roadmap, and turn technical complexity into intuitive, scalable experiences. The position also calls for a strong research and systems-thinking mindset, with an emphasis on improving analytics, reporting, and measurable experience outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $183,762 – $289,050 annually

Responsibilities

• Set the end-to-end experience vision for developer experience initiatives, ensuring coherence across products and aligning with the overall product strategy


• Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape strategy and prioritize the roadmap


• Transform complex engineering data into intuitive experiences through effective design techniques


• Lead customer research initiatives to foster a shared understanding of needs within teams


• Manage high-impact design projects from discovery through post-launch iteration


• Utilize AI to transform design ideas into prototypes and contribute to production code directly


• Define and track experience outcomes to guide design iterations and improvements

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience, particularly in complex, cross-functional initiatives


• Deep expertise in designing data-driven B2B SaaS products, focusing on analytics and reporting


• Exceptional skills in interaction design, information architecture, data visualization, and accessibility


• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts while maintaining analytical depth


• Strong product judgment with proven experience in influencing strategy and roadmaps


• Experience leading research and converting findings into product direction


• Demonstrated use of AI in the design process, with sound judgment on its impact on customer experience
