Job summary

Flex is seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead a full area of the business, shaping the vision and owning end-to-end execution that impacts consumers nationwide. You’ll drive alignment across product, design, analytics, risk, and engineering, delivering prototypes and setting the standard for quality.

In this hybrid role, you’ll collaborate with PMs and cross-functional partners, build scalable design systems, and mentor others while advancing the company’s mission to improve renters’

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing and shipping consumer products.
• Ability to align multiple teams around a shared experience.
• Comfort with experimentation and quantitative reasoning.
• Experience shaping design systems and standards.
• Proficient with AI-assisted design tools.
• Strong mobile app design experience (iOS/Android).
• A portfolio of shipped solutions demonstrating impact.
• Mentorship, critique, and systems-building experience.
• Ability to document and explain design decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for a full area of the business, shaping the vision and owning end-to-end execution.
• Connect multiple teams through complex design challenges to form a cohesive ecosystem.
• Drive design exploration on critical projects while setting the standard through hands-on work.
• Maintain high quality across features, concepts, and innovative solutions.
• Design flows that address real financial pressures with clarity and dignity.
• Build prototypes and artifacts to illustrate future work and align leadership.
• Support company strategy with diverse inputs: research, data, trends, and design expertise.
• Collaborate with PM, analytics, risk, and engineering to structure experiments and guardrails.
• Establish design-thinking methods and scalable toolkits for broader adoption.
• Evolve the Ultraviolet design system and our visual language.
• Shape standards for AI use across the product lifecycle and improve design-to-code quality.
