Job summary

Flex, a NYC-headquartered FinTech, is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Payments to lead the end-to-end payments platform. You will shape strategy, drive routing and fraud efficiency, and expand payment methods while maintaining UX and risk controls.

The role requires 7+ years in product with payments, fintech experience, and strong collaboration with Risk, Finance, and Engineering. This hybrid NYC/SF/Salt Lake City role offers a market-based base with relocation support.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product experience with finance or payments focus.
• Deep understanding of payments ecosystem: authentication, retries, tokens, gateways, fraud systems.
• Ability to balance user experience, cost, risk, and regulatory requirements in product decisions.
• Strong technical acumen and collaboration with engineering to build scalable systems.
• Proven experience coaching PMs and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Define cross-functional platform product strategy and architecture.
• Own payments platform roadmap: vaulting, authorization, processing, reconciliation, refunds across all methods.
• Drive down processing costs via smarter routing, retry logic, and fraud efficiency.
• Build and scale fraud detection and dispute infrastructure while minimizing user friction.
• Expand payment method coverage (cards, ACH, wallets) with proper controls.
• Lead and grow a high-performing product team and set measurable success metrics.
