Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Specialist in Procurement to lead strategic sourcing and subcontract administration supporting aerospace programs. You will negotiate with suppliers, manage contracts, and drive value while ensuring compliance with FAR/DFAR and company policies.

Remote role with occasional travel to supplier sites or RTX locations; collaboration with IPTs, engineering, and program management to meet procurement objectives and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience reading and understanding drawing specifications.
• Experience in cost and price analysis and leading negotiations.
• FAR/DFAR regulations knowledge.
• U.S. Person status or eligibility for export authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and administer subcontracts (Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursement, Time and Materials).
• Collaborate with material program management and engineering on procurement strategies.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare subcontract documentation compliant with FAR/DFAR.
• Analyze supply chain challenges and develop procurement solutions.
• Plan and execute procurement tasks to meet program requirements.
• Interface with IPTs and stakeholders to address technical challenges.
• Use ERP systems to manage procurement execution and material outcomes.
• Lead price analyses, cost analyses, and negotiations for best value.
