Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an Energetics Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors and other energetic products. You will champion safety, apply Lean Six Sigma, and lead RCCA investigations in a cross-functional team with engineering and planning.

Experience with energetics, manufacturing planning, and 3D modeling is required; GD&T, blueprints, and tooling qualifications are essential. A strong benefits package accompanies this full-time role.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of experience; master’s degree waives 0 years of experience.
• Level 3 requires B.S. +5 years; 3 years with a master’s degree; relevant rocket/motor manufacturing background.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors and energetic products.
• Demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Continuously improve processes using Lean Six Sigma.
• Perform RCCA investigations to permanently eliminate defects.
• Work with concurrent engineering to create Build-to-Packages documentation.
• Author, update and review shop floor planning.
• Prepare and present technical presentations to leadership and external customers.
• Monitor production events and use SPC to ensure process control.
• Develop and incorporate process improvements and disseminate lessons learned.
• Troubleshoot production, tooling, and facility issues; implement solutions.
• Lead design and qualification of new or modified tooling or equipment.
