Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Magna, Utah, is seeking an Energetics Engineer (level 2) or Principal (Level 3) to join the Process Engineering Rocket Motor Manufacturing team. This weekend position (Fri, Sat, Sun; 12 hours) offers growth in solids rocket motor production with Lean Six Sigma and RCCA focus.

Primary responsibilities include improving processes, leading tool and equipment upgrades, and presenting technical results to leadership.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a STEM field with required hands-on experience in energetics or related manufacturing.
• Experience with energetics, rubbers, composites, metals, adhesives, primers, and coatings.
• Proficient in GD&T and blueprint interpretation; Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors and energetic products.
• Demonstrate a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Continuously improve processes using Lean Six Sigma principles.
• Lead RCCA investigations to eliminate root causes of defects.
• Collaborate with engineering to create Build-to-Packages and planning documents.
• Prepare and present technical reviews to leadership and customers.
• Monitor production events and apply SPC to ensure process control.
• Implement process improvements and share lessons learned.
