Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Promontory, Utah, seeks a Process Manufacturing Engineer to support the rocket motor case prep process engineering team. You will develop and improve manufacturing processes, observe operations, and drive corrective actions to eliminate defects.

This role requires a STEM degree with experience, strong problem solving, and excellent communication. You will write shop floor instructions, present technical results, and work with design and production teams to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years of related experience OR Master’s degree with no professional experience required.
Proactive self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities.
Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and business databases.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve manufacturing processes for rocket motor case prep.
Observe and monitor operations to identify defects and process issues.
Lead root cause analysis to permanently eliminate defects.
Collaborate with concurrent engineering to ensure proper documentation and on-time production.
Create, update and review shop floor work instructions.
