Job summary

Regent is a global private equity firm seeking a Principal to lead the full investment lifecycle, from due diligence to post-close value creation. The role emphasizes hands-on deal execution, portfolio oversight, and operating stints in distressed assets.

The ideal candidate has deep buy-side experience, a track record in turnaround scenarios, and will work closely with firm leadership in Beverly Hills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of private equity/investment banking or buy-side experience across the full deal lifecycle.
• Direct buy-side experience including due diligence, analysis, valuation, and negotiation.
• Experience overseeing a portfolio company post-acquisition, preferably in distressed/turnaround contexts.
• Strong understanding of distressed and special‑situations concepts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate investment opportunities against Regent's priorities and develop investment theses.
• Lead due diligence with internal and external resources.
• Build and own three-statement financial models for acquisitions, including downside analysis.
• Prepare investment committee materials and senior leadership presentations.
• Negotiate deal terms and financing structures with leadership and outside counsel.
• Provide financial/operational oversight to portfolio companies during transition and stabilization.
• Partner with management teams on liquidity, cost structure, and operational restructuring.
• Track portfolio performance against underwriting assumptions and flag risks.
