Job summary

Regent is seeking a Principal to lead the full investment lifecycle, from due diligence to post-close value creation. The role emphasizes hands-on involvement in turnaround situations and close collaboration with firm leadership and the Chairman.

This is a senior, full-time position based in Beverly Hills. Ideal candidates have deep distressed‑situations experience and a proven ability to manage deal execution while operating portfolio companies post‑acquisition.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking (M&A/restructuring), or a related buy-side environment.
• Direct buy-side experience across the full deal lifecycle: financial due diligence, investment analysis, modeling/valuation, and deal negotiation.
• Experience overseeing a portfolio company post-acquisition, ideally a distressed turnaround.
• Strong understanding of distressed and special-situations concepts preferred.
• Advanced financial modeling skills with fully-linked three-statement models.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential investment opportunities against Regent's strategic priorities, developing investment theses and analysis.
• Lead and drive the due diligence process on new investments, coordinating internal resources and third-party advisors.
• Build and own dynamic three-statement financial models to underwrite acquisitions, including scenario analysis.
• Prepare investment committee materials and summaries for leadership.
• Negotiate deal terms, purchase agreements, and financing structures with leadership and outside counsel.
• Provide direct financial and operational oversight to portfolio companies through transition and stabilization.
• Act as embedded resource within portfolio companies during turnaround, guiding liquidity, costs, and restructuring.
• Track portfolio performance against underwriting assumptions and flag risks.
