Blue Origin seeks a Principal Engineer for Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) to own the timing and synchronization architecture of the TeraWave constellation. You will write estimation algorithms, build simulation frameworks, and conduct trade studies while crafting the technical foundation for a focused PNT team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in PNT/navigation/timing for satellite or distributed systems.
• Hands-on development of estimation algorithms for orbit determination or clock estimation.
• Knowledge of time transfer methods and clock characterization.
• GNSS-based navigation and robustness under degraded conditions.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the timing and synchronization architecture for the TeraWave constellation, including time transfer and clock management.
• Develop and validate PNT estimation algorithms (orbit determination, clock estimation, sensor fusion).
• Build simulation frameworks to characterize estimation performance and timing stability.
• Conduct architectural trades to justify design decisions and guide implementation.
• Define resilience posture for PNT operations under denial or degradation conditions.
• Develop execution plans and build a case for a focused PNT team and its roadmap.
• Collaborate with payload, flight software, ground, and network teams to ensure verifiable interfaces.
