Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a seasoned algorithm designer to advance beam planning and routing for the TeraWave constellation, spanning thousands of satellites and dynamic topologies. You will develop, validate, and maintain optimization tools in MATLAB and Python, ensuring designs align with orbital mechanics and system-level constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, operations research, applied mathematics, or equivalent technical field.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience with scheduling, routing, resource allocation, or combinatorial optimization problems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and maintain beam-to-ground-cell allocation algorithms for the constellation.
• Design and implement data routing algorithms for the optical inter-satellite link mesh.
• Develop gateway-satellite assignment algorithms optimizing ground segment utilization.
• Design handover algorithms for satellite-to-satellite and gateway-to-gateway transitions.
• Develop resource scheduling algorithms respecting per-satellite and per-beam budgets and regulatory constraints.
• Build and maintain validated algorithmic tools in MATLAB and/or Python.
• Perform scalability analyses for full constellation (3000+ satellites).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate designs into production specifications.
