Job summary

Amazon seeks a Principal Product Manager - Technical for the AWS GenAIUX program. You will define the persona strategy for GenAI experiences, translate insights into a portfolio, and drive the organizational framework for scalable delivery.

You will prototype with engineering, craft working artifacts, and earn credibility by building demo-scale experiences that inform decisions. Lead cross‑org partnerships and mentor teams in a high‑ambiguity, high‑impact environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical experience (software development, ML/AI systems, or other hands‑on engineering work)
• 10+ years of technical product management, program management, or engineering experience, with at least 5 years at a senior/principal level owning portfolio-level strategy
• Experience delivering large‑scale products from concept through launch
• Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers
• Demonstrated experience shipping AI/ML or Generative AI products at scale
• Hands‑on experience building with GenAI tooling — prompting, prototyping, and demos/POCs
• Proven ability to operate in high‑ambiguity environments and drive alignment across teams
• Experience establishing mechanisms and frameworks adopted beyond your team
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Define the persona strategy for GenAI experiences and establish a scalable framework
• Translate insights into a GenAI portfolio with clear value and business model
• Own working backwards narratives and supplement with prototypes
• Make hard prioritization decisions balancing impact, feasibility, value, and strategy
• Define success metrics and present trade-offs to senior leadership
• Influence leadership to allocate resources and shape organizational priorities
• Collaborate with engineering, design, documentation, and training teams
• Represent AWS externally through advisory boards, whitepapers, and demos
• Mentor PM talent and foster a hands-on, builder culture
