CloudBees is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team, developing microservices in Go and running in AWS. You will direct, lead, and contribute to building and operating the platform, bringing deep back-end tech experience with a product mindset.

You thrive on shipping production-quality code, designing resilient systems, and balancing speed with correctness. You will mentor teammates and drive high-quality architectural decisions for the next platform

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Built and operated a complex microservices platform in production.
• Extensive distributed-systems experience including concurrency and event-driven architectures.
• Experience shipping code to production weekly.

Responsibilities

• Own the Platform Foundation: understand code/architecture, define a measurable technical roadmap.
• Bring the Team with You: earn trust, set direction, and lead design/code reviews.
• Make Quality the Default: establish dev practices, drive observability, document decisions.
