Job summary

CloudBees Inc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team. You will design and ship high-throughput backend services and APIs, owning microservices in Golang and collaborating with frontend partners to define API contracts.

The role emphasizes product-minded engineering, observability, and scalable architecture. You will work on distributed systems, contribute to data-layer design, and mentor peers while writing clear documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend software engineering in a B2B SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in Golang.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems: microservices, event-driven architecture, service mesh, and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform foundation: design, build, and maintain high-throughput, resilient backend services and APIs across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop and own microservices using Golang, ensuring they are performant and observable.
• Define and implement clean API contracts (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) for great developer experiences.
• Contribute to data layer design and evolution (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Kafka/NATS).
• Write documentation, runbooks, and internal guides for self-service platforms.
