Job summary

CloudBees seeks a Principal Software Engineer for Platform Engineering to own and evolve the core platform. You will lead back-end work in Go on AWS, shaping architecture and roadmap while maintaining a strong product mindset. You will guide design reviews and drive critical-path improvements across the team.

You are passionate about distributed systems, shipping production-grade code weekly, and balancing speed with correctness in a governance-focused platform used across customer pipelines.

Qualifications

• 12+ years as a founding, principal, or staff engineer with leadership impact.
• Built and operated a complex microservices platform in production.
• Extensive distributed-systems experience including concurrency and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own the Platform Foundation by understanding code and architecture and forming an evidence-based plan.
• Define the technical roadmap with measurable goals and deliver incremental value.
• Write the hardest code yourself and drive critical-path refactors and stability work.
• Lead the team through direction, standards, reviews, and unblock hard problems.
