Job summary

CloudBees, Inc. is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer in a hybrid Denver, CO setting. You will design performance testing as code, establish baselines, and partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks before they reach customers.

This role combines hands-on software engineering, systems thinking, and production telemetry to help ship software faster without compromising reliability. It requires 7+ years of experience and strong skills in Java/Go/Python.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software or performance engineering with hands-on testing.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience automating tests and quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud infra.
• Ability to translate user journeys into realistic workloads and thresholds.

Responsibilities

• Design and own performance engineering strategy for products and services.
• Build automated load, stress, and scalability tests as code.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD workflows with clear thresholds.
• Define baselines, SLIs/SLOs, and release criteria across latency and throughput.
• Diagnose bottlenecks using observability data and profiling.
• Collaborate with engineers, SRE, and product teams to bake performance in early.
• Create realistic test environments, workloads, and capacity models.
• Develop dashboards and automated reports showing trends and risks.
