Job summary

Oracle Nashville is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to define the technical direction for OCI's deployment platform. You will lead architecture, align teams, and drive scalable, secure deployment capabilities across the developer platform.

You will shape durable platform primitives, enable rapid shipping of changes, and own outcomes in production while collaborating with teams across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, C++, C#, Python or similar.
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and scalable architectures.
• Cloud-native systems experience with containers, orchestration, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and strategy for core services and APIs powering OCI’s deployment platform.
• Lead delivery of resilient, scalable deployment workflows and platform primitives.
• Influence direction across teams and translate needs into clear technical plans.
• Establish safety and reliability as platform defaults with strong governance and observability.
• Shape foundations for AI- and agent-assisted engineering workflows with appropriate controls.
• Use feedback and trends to identify high-leverage improvements in availability and performance.
