Job summary

Oracle’s OCI team is seeking a Principal Software Platform Engineer to define and drive the technical direction for a new application deployment system. You will shape a greenfield platform that improves developer velocity while maintaining safety and reliability across cloud-scale services.

You will lead architecture, influence multiple teams, and establish durable platform primitives with strong isolation, governance, and observability to support rapid, safe software delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience leading production-quality distributed systems or platform services.
• Strong programming skills in modern languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, Python, or similar.
• Deep experience designing APIs, data models, and scalable architectures.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native systems including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, and release engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership and ownership across teams with accountability for outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and technical strategy for core services and APIs powering OCI’s deployment platform.
• Deliver resilient, scalable deployment workflows and platform primitives for diverse environments.
• Influence product and engineering direction across teams and translate multi-organization needs into clear technical plans.
• Establish safety and reliability as defaults with strong policy enforcement, observability, and rollback paths.
• Shape foundations for AI- and agent-assisted engineering workflows with governance and least-privilege controls.
• Leverage customer feedback and trends to identify high-leverage improvements to availability and performance.
