Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the Developer Experience Platform, building and operating the engineering system that moves work from requirement to safe production feedback. You will work directly in Java and JavaScript repositories, Maven builds, Docker and Kubernetes environments, and GitLab/Jenkins pipelines.

Qualifications

• Substantial software/platform engineering experience across multiple teams.
• Hands-on track record shipping production platform code and automation.
• Experience designing internal developer platforms and enablement.
• Strong CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and observability skills.

Responsibilities

• Personally build and operate developer-facing services, tools, templates, and pipelines across local, CI, and production environments.
• Reproduce bottlenecks using profiling and telemetry to fix root causes and improve developer feedback loops.
• Carry critical changes from design through deployment and adoption, ensuring engineers can work efficiently.
• Map the end-to-end developer journey, publish ownership and service expectations, and maintain platform contracts and deprecation paths.
• Define paved roads for services, APIs, data, security, and observability, with self-service templates and a developer portal.
• Engineer and evolve GitLab/Jenkins workflows for fast feedback through local changes to production deployments.
• Build agent platforms and governance for agentic engineering workflows with deterministic validation.
