Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive end-to-end solution delivery for major retail platforms. You will own hands-on implementation, engage as a technical lead for client engagements, and mentor teams across AI-assisted development and Dual-Track Agile processes.

The role emphasizes cloud-native development, POS and store-operations domain knowledge, and strong code quality with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with daily hands-on coding and prototyping.
• 5+ years building cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven systems, with Azure or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript, React/Vue.
• Proven experience owning end-to-end solution delivery for medium-to-large projects.
• Track record of building production code, prototypes, and reference implementations.
• Experience with REST/OpenAPI, messaging, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on proficiency with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, testing, and AI/agentic workflows.
• Experience with generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and measurable impact on delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution delivery across Discovery and Delivery Tracks, building prototypes and shipping implementations.
• Mentor and upskill engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
• Lead client engagements as the primary technical lead, facilitating workshops and decisions.
• Produce ADRs, interface contracts, data models, and migration/rollback plans with architects.
• Drive Discovery Track via working prototypes to validate feasibility before full implementation.
• Ensure design intent, code quality standards, and non-functional requirements are preserved.
• Contribute to platform strategy and reusable assets; identify gaps needing investment.
