Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to build and operate the engineering system that moves work from requirement through local development, validation, CI/CD, and production feedback across a mature POS estate. You will work in Java/JavaScript repositories, manage pipelines, and direct agentic engineering workers to ensure deterministic validation and rapid delivery.

The role emphasizes developer experience as a product, with ownership of end-to-end

Qualifications

• Substantial software or platform engineering experience at Staff/Principal level across multiple teams.
• Recent hands-on experience shipping and operating production platform code, automation, or delivery infrastructure.
• Design and delivery of internal developer platforms or productivity capabilities for complex production environments.

Responsibilities

• Personally build and operate developer-facing services, tools, and templates that empower engineers.
• Use profiling, logs, metrics, traces to identify bottlenecks and improve end-to-end workflows.
• Lead critical changes from design to deployment with clear ownership and adoption follow-through.
