Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a senior client-platform engineer to own and evolve the ELERA POS client, a Vue 3 and TypeScript application framework powering fixed-lane, self-checkout, kiosk, and other experiences. This is a successor role on an architect track, developing into the architect for the ELERA POS client.

The role centers on platform work—designing a dependency-injection/plugin system, configuration merge, device integration, and a dual UI strategy with the legacy Dojo

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional web development; Senior track may require 9+ years.
• Strong TypeScript/OO programming skills with generics and declaration files.
• 2+ years in Vue 3 with deep knowledge of reactivity, routing, and state management.
• Experience building shared libraries or frameworks consumed by multiple teams.
• Familiarity with dependency-injection containers and decorator-based registration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test/debug client UI and framework code in Vue 3 and TypeScript, mentor team.
• Design with internal teams and external retailers/partners in mind.
• Own and extend client extensibility model and configuration merge chain.
• Maintain backward compatibility for plugins and customizations.
• Publish versioned shared packages with semantic versioning and deprecation discipline.
• Keep two UI generations shippable while migrating the Dojo layer incrementally.
• Extend device integration layer for scanners, printers, POS terminals, etc.
• Own client release train with hybrid Maven/npm builds and Jenkins pipelines.
• Maintain client quality with unit tests and a browser-automation suite.
• Write architecture decisions and participate in Architecture Review Board.
