Job summary

Walmart Global Tech seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, applying cloud-native architectures and AI/ML integration. The role requires strategic technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to align engineering with business goals.

You will drive end-to-end lifecycle management, promote architectural standards, and foster continuous improvement while delivering high‑quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area. 5 years’ software engineering experience; or 7 years’ experience in software engineering (Option 2).
• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area with 3 years' experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering efforts delivering scalable infrastructure, reusable tooling, and AI/ML frameworks.
• Architect and implement cloud-native, distributed systems with high availability and real-time data processing.
• Oversee full SDLC including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response across multiple teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting best practices and innovation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement through experimentation and adoption of advanced development tools.
