Job summary

AEP seeks a Planner to establish schedules for outages and projects, balancing plant work with available labor and resources. The role supports long- and short-range planning for maintenance, capital improvements, and staffing within safe and economical practices.

You will assist workers and supervision in executing detailed work plans using various management systems, and you will help optimize plant availability and efficiency through precise planning and input to budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical related field or two years of maintenance related experience.
• An additional four years of work-related experience in outage/project planning, outage/project field work activities and/or plant operations; or equivalent education/work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing plans to improve operating and maintenance outage efficiency.
• Coordinate the development of input to establish projected cost and duration; assist with budget and forecasts.
• Plan all work activities per company policies, standards and rules.
• Coordinate plans with personnel to identify needed estimates and participate in outage/project meetings.
• Review work orders for accuracy and assist with analysis of reports.
• Assist with planning and estimating work activities using established standards.
