AbbVie is seeking a Principal Research Scientist I in Process Analytical Technology (PAT) to lead a small team within Analytical R&D, establishing PAT strategies for synthetic programs and supporting development from early phases through validation and manufacturing transfer.

You will apply chemometrics, multivariate data analysis, and spectroscopic PAT methods to drive process understanding and control, collaborating with Process Engineering, Process Chemistry, Drug Product Development,

Qualifications

• PAT expertise across development lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Mentor a small team of PAT scientists and deliver across multiple programs
• Lead development of an integrated PAT strategy for drug substance and drug product programs
• Coordinate with Analytical R&D project leads for early engagement and transfer decisions
• Develop and validate PAT models and ensure robust data interpretation
• Communicate strategy and findings to senior stakeholders
