Job summary

Timken in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Principal Process Engineer specialized in NVH and gauging to lead noise and vibration testing, develop metrology solutions, and support global deployment of gauing equipment.

You will work with manufacturing, R&D, quality and technology teams; travel 5-15% domestically and internationally; require a strong background in signal processing, calibration, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing NVH activities including testing and deployment of gauging equipment globally.
• Serve as corporate SME for electronic bearing inspection (roundness, form, optical, surface finish gauging).
• Develop corporate gauging strategy and cost-reduction efforts; stay current with new gauging and metrology tech.
• Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to evaluate gauging system performance including gauge R&R studies.
• Lead projects, manage budgets, and provide regular status updates; travel 5–15% domestically and internationally.
