Job summary

Timken is seeking a Quality Development Engineer in Wadsworth, OH to drive operational excellence. You will lead root cause investigations for non-conforming materials and customer returns, supporting production troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives across teams, with a focus on quality assurance and PPAP/FAIR/CoC processes.

Responsibilities include audits, inspections, gage calibration, and collaboration with CI Engineering to improve assembly processes.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a STEM field or ASQ CQE certification.
  • Experience with basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers) and advanced metrology tools (CMMs) including GDT standards.
  • Experience with internal auditing and working in database systems (QIM, Windchill, SAP).
  • Proficiency with MS Office; strong mathematical and statistical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause problem solving for non-conforming material and returned product.
  • Drive corrective actions and dispositions ensuring ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
  • Perform final and incoming inspections; support Rover Arm/CMM inspections.
  • Support gage calibration software and calibration processes.
  • Execute internal audits to ISO standards.
  • Manage PPAP/FAIR/CoC events for new product deployment.
  • Collaborate with CI Engineering to improve assembly processes.
  • Review warranty data; write damage analyses and liaise with service managers.
  • Contribute to reliability studies of failed components and design impact.
