Job summary

The Timken Company is seeking an experienced metrology engineer to support NVH testing and develop advanced gauging processes for bearing components. You will collaborate with global manufacturing plants and R&D teams to deploy reliable inspection solutions across facilities.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 7+ years of related experience; a master’s degree is preferred. This role requires travel and strong data analysis skills in Python, MATLAB, and C++.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience.
Master's degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with metrology, gauging, and instrumentation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

NVH and signal processing support for noise/vibration testing and global plant troubleshooting.
Be the Gauging SME for electronic bearing inspection processes (roundness, form, optical, surface finish).
Develop and drive corporate gauging strategy and cost-reduction efforts.
Apply mathematical and statistical methods to gauge performance (gauge R&R).
Specify, procure, evaluate, and deploy gauging inspection solutions across global manufacturing locations.
Lead projects, manage budgets, and provide updates in presentations/reports.
Contribute to new inspection methodologies for product launches.
Travel domestically and internationally 5–15% depending on projects.
