Valar Atomics seeks a Principal Nuclear I&C Engineer to own the reactor measurement architecture for our first‑of‑a‑kind HTGR project. You will define instrument strategy, qualification bases, and safety‑significant design approvals.

In this senior role, you will serve as design authority, lead licensing interactions, and mentor engineers while ensuring measurement integrity, regulatory compliance, and robust vendor collaboration across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering; 10+ years in nuclear I&C.
• Ownership of instrumentation scope across multiple programs.
• Experience as design authority with safety-significant instrumentation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Define reactor measurement architecture and instrumentation strategy.
• Approve safety-significant instrumentation designs and qualifications.
• Engage in licensing reviews and regulatory proceedings.
• Lead staff development and mentoring within the IC&E discipline.
