Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations and Missile Defense Integration seek a Principal/Sr. Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer — Level 3 or 4 in Colorado Springs, CO.

The role focuses on developing models using AFSIM in a classified setting and supporting MS&A programs across missile defense, space, and intelligence domains. The candidate will mentor junior engineers, work autonomously and within teams, and communicate complex technical details effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 5+ years of related work experience (or Master’s in STEM with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year).
• Level 4: Bachelor’s with 8 years (Master’s 6, PhD 4).
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at start.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Experience with modeling & simulation tools: AFSIM, STK, or similar.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to work autonomously and in teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop models and simulations using Government Off-the-Shelf tools like AFSIM in a classified environment.
• Support MS&A projects across missile defense, space, and intelligence domains.
