Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector has an opening for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in El Segundo, CA and focuses on supply base technical management related to acquiring military hardware requirements.

This role requires a strong background in machining, structures, composites, sheet metal, and tooling, with experience in CAD (Siemens NX/CATIA) and PLM systems, and the ability to travel up to 25%. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science and 5 years of relevant engineering experience in procurement support, tooling evaluation, and technical liaison roles.
• Support successful execution with Global Supply Chain and Supplier Quality organizations through the source selection and acquisition cycles.
• Demonstrated experience in interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models for fabrication of parts.
• Model based experience with Siemens NX and/or CATIA and PLM environments.
• Experience using SAP, Windows software packages, and databases to fetch data.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide sourcing recommendation to general procurement and major subcontract internal customers utilizing strategic sourcing tools.
• Identifying and on-boarding new sources of supply for assigned commodities.
• Conducting capability assessments, performing supplier audits and performance monitoring of suppliers for assigned commodities.
• Travel required up to 25%.
