Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Clearfield, UT, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting the RVA program within the SDS division. You will design, analyze, test, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment for government missions, collaborating across disciplines.

The role requires a STEM bachelor's with 5+ years or a Master’s with 3+ years, US citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance, CAD experience (Siemens NX), GD&T, and lifecycle design

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience; or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience
• Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
• Requires 2 years demonstrated experience working with external customer to meet program expectations
• Requires experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
• Requires experience in Systems Engineering/Life Cycle Design, GD&T, and manufacturing
• Requires experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Preferred: Active Secret Clearance, PE license

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure to support government missions
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to design and develop new systems and troubleshoot equipment
• Perform mechanical analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Develop and maintain design drawings, technical reports, and test plans; provide guidance to junior engineers
