Job summary

RTX in Tucson seeks a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to support the PCAS organization, focusing on development, build, and verification of control actuation systems. You will engage in design, test, and systems engineering for aerospace applications, working with cross-functional teams on challenging programs.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, STEM degree with extensive experience, and the ability to work onsite in Tucson with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical mechanism design or flight control systems for aerospace applications.
• Basic proficiency with model development and data analysis in MATLAB/Simulink; familiarity with DOORS/CAMEO is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across programs, including detailed design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering.
• Operate autonomously with minimal oversight, manage moderate-sized projects, delegate work, and influence policies and procedures.
