Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a principal mechanical design engineer for the Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) to support design, build, and verification of control actuation systems at our Tucson facility. The role emphasizes autonomous work, advanced domain knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams.

The position requires a STEM degree with substantial relevant experience and preference for experience in aerospace mechanisms, flight control integration, and systems

Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advance degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications

Responsibilities

Provide mechanical engineering support as program needs fluctuate, including detailed mechanical design and test design and execution.
Autonomously handle tasks with minimal oversight and manage moderate-size projects.
Influence policies, practices and procedures within the control mechanism development domain
