Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a principal mechanical design engineer to support the PCAS group in developing control actuation systems. The role requires autonomous work, complex task breakdown, and cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams.

Located primarily at the Tucson/Huntsville facilities, candidate should have advanced degrees in STEM fields and experience with MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS/CAMEO, and dSPACE.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advance degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across programs with minimal oversight.
• Apply earned value management and test design as needed.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage moderate-size projects.
• Learn through hands-on hardware work in Huntsville and Tucson facilities.
