Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Principal Mechanical Architect for LiquidStack Cooling Solutions in Haslet, TX. You will lead electrical design for CDU platforms and data center cooling, guiding projects from concept through production with a focus on reliability and sustainability.

You will drive cross-functional efforts, ensuring safety, standards compliance, and manufacturability. This senior role requires extensive HVAC and power engineering experience and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years in industrial electrical design or power equipment engineering.
• Experience across full product lifecycle from concept to production.
• Deep experience with high/low voltage components, VFDs, and wiring layouts.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical distribution architecture for CDU platforms and data center thermal solutions.
• Design electrical systems with dual power, redundancy, and safety interlocks.
• Select VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation, and telemetry for process parameters.
• Establish CAD standards, BOM conventions, and design-review practices.
• Lead designs from concept to manufacturing release; perform short-circuit, voltage drop, and thermal calculations.
• Collaborate with global teams to integrate sensors, fail-safes, and validation methods.
• Apply GD&T, DFMEA, and validation methods; ensure compliance with standards.
• Work with PLM, controls, and systems engineers for integration.
• Coordinate with test personnel to validate products.
• Travel ~5-15%.
