Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Operations Project Manager to support production and manufacturing in Central Virginia. The role interfaces with Program Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain to drive cost, schedule, and technical performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead cross-functional IPTs, own operations strategy from proposal to delivery, manage EVMS baselines and EACs, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with experience in manufacturing, engineering, operations or project management.
• Experience leading programs or IPT/CAM activities delivering cost, schedule and technical results.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary manufacturing operations interface to the Program Office and functional orgs.
• Lead cross-functional IPTs across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, test, quality, finance, and mission assurance.
• Own operations strategy and execution from proposal through delivery.
• Act as operations CAM: manage baselines, EVMS metrics, EACs, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain integrated manufacturing, integration, and test plans.
• Coordinate material planning, production scheduling, and factory readiness.
• Utilize MES and MRP to ensure WBS alignment, demand and capacity planning.
• Monitor KPIs and drive recovery plans as needed.
• Lead risk and opportunity management and RCCA activities with compliance focus.
• Drive continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and standardize processes.
• Coordinate and support manufacturing proposal inputs (BOEs, labor estimating, rates).
• Provide clear status and recommendations to leaders and stakeholders.
• Present program status to leaders with cost, schedule, and technical updates.
