Job summary
Northrop Grumman in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing programs at the site. You will design processes, layouts, and methods for wire harness work cell and collaborate with operators to improve efficiency.
The role requires a STEM degree and hands-on shop floor experience, CAD proficiency, and knowledge of GD&T. Familiarity with lean methods and capability to obtain a SECRET clearance is preferred; US citizenship is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s with 0+ years.
- Experience with CAD and GD&T in interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience supporting shop floor assemblers and operators and reading wiring schematics.
Responsibilities
- Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and layouts for wire harness work cell.
- Specifies procedures for tools, equipment and other functions affecting product performance.
- Incorporates inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
- Provides guidance to engineering on design concepts and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensures processes comply with regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborates with assemblers and cell supervisors to sustain continuous improvement.
