Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support production at the Charlottesville, VA site. You will design processes, layouts, and tooling for wire harness work, and work with engineers to optimize flow and quality across cells.

The role involves time/motion studies, CAD-based layout improvements, and hands-on collaboration with shop floor teams; on-site start times begin early to align with operator schedules and production needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline with 2+ years in manufacturing engineering or related field
Experience with wire harnesses, connectors, assembling, crimping tools and troubleshooting
Experience reading wiring schematics and CAD drawings
Experience supporting shop floor assemblers and operators
Experience with LEAN manufacturing and time/motion studies

Responsibilities

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and layouts for assemblies and material handling
Defines operations sequences and specifies tools and equipment requirements
Adapts designs to factory and production conditions
Incorporates inspection and test requirements into production plans
Analyses plant performance to meet customer demand
Develops processes for statistical process control
Provides guidance on design concepts and equipment utilization
Ensures regulatory compliance and safety standards
Interfaces with assemblers and supervisors on operations
