Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design and optimize wire harness manufacturing processes, layouts and work cells at the Charlottesville plant. You will develop operation sequences, specify tools and adapt layouts to production needs, while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

You will analyze production lines, simulate plant configurations, and mentor shop-floor teams in lean methods. This onsite role requires 6:00AM starts and US citizenship.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher in a STEM field with relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience with wiring, schematics and GD&T is required.
CAD proficiency and shop floor training skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Design manufacturing processes, layouts and work cell configurations.
Analyze lead times, bottlenecks and waste to improve efficiency.
Develop and use models to optimize plant configurations and routing.
Provide guidance to engineering on design concepts and equipment use.
Collaborate with assemblers and supervisors to implement improvements.
