Job summary

The Boston Foundation is seeking an Assistant Director, Community Grantmaking to lead participatory processes for Open Door Grants, My Summer in the City, and Collaborate Boston, and to manage the Boston Neighborhood Fellows program.

The role requires strong project management, commitment to social justice, and the ability to connect with diverse local communities in Greater Boston. Diversity candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to connect with diverse communities and motivate participants.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple strands of work under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize and manage community processes to inform grantmaking programs.
• Recruit, train, and manage intermediaries and reviewers for participation.
• Develop and manage the Boston Neighborhood Fellows program and alumni relations.
• Enhance data collection and evaluation practices for program impact.
• Represent The Boston Foundation externally at events and panels.
• Supervise staff and consultants involved in the programs.
