Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD seeks a Principal Modeling Simulation and Analysis Systems Engineer for 100% on-site work. You will accelerate capabilities through performance modeling, software integration, and mission studies across radar and mission engineering domains.

Required are strong modeling/validation skills, expertise with MATLAB/STK/AFSIM, and proficiency in Python/C++. Collaboration across M&S, radar modes and systems teams is essential to deliver robust architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, Master with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields.
• U.S. Citizenship and a final U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
• Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis, including for operations, and the use of analytical modeling tools like MATLAB, STK, or similar environments.
• Knowledge of combat simulation environments such as AFSIM and/or Brawler.
• Proficient in Python and C/C++, with experience in Linux/Windows scripting, statistics, design of experiments, and high performance computing.

Responsibilities

• Perform performance-focused modeling and simulation on high-performance computing grids to evaluate and optimize system and subsystem behavior.
• Conduct trade studies and mission architecture analyses across formations, loadouts, and sensor/equipment configurations.
• Utilize MS&A frameworks to support software integration, algorithm validation, and CONEMPS/CONOPS evaluation.
• Assess system capabilities by linking requirements to performance metrics and mission threads.
• Plan, generate, and execute verification and validation artifacts and test activities.
• Collaborate with M&S, software, radar modes, and mission engineering teams to diagnose and resolve deficiencies.
