Job summary
Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Principal Knowledge Engineer to architect the knowledge foundation for our ICs data platform and agentic intelligence layer.
You will own knowledge architecture, governance, and the Intuit Customer Success Knowledge Graph, guiding data scientists and engineers while staying close to code. Qualifications
- 15+ years in data and knowledge engineering or AI/ML engineering.
- Proven production experience with large-scale knowledge graphs or data platforms.
- Deep knowledge of ontology, taxonomy design, and knowledge graph construction.
- Hands-on experience with LLM-powered and agentic systems, including retrieval.
- Experience with AI infrastructure: vector/graph databases and cloud platforms.
- Experience defining semantic layer and metrics so business definitions stay consistent.
- Data governance including lineage, provenance, quality, freshness, access control.
- Strong programming and production code review skills.
- Pragmatic architecture balancing short-term needs with long-term vision.
- Excellent communication and ability to influence without authority.
- Experience mentoring teams of data scientists and engineers.
- BS in CS/DS/Stats/InfoSci; MS/PhD preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the agentic knowledge architecture for ICs data platform and Knowledge Graph.
- Architect the agentic intelligence layer with retrieval, memory and multi-agent orchestration.
- Define the semantic layer strategy across BI and AI experiences.
- Lead data and knowledge governance ensuring quality, freshness and provenance.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions and document trade-offs.
- Build hands-on through prototypes and production-grade code.
- Deliver quarterly business needs while aligning with long-term architecture.
- Define evaluation frameworks for knowledge coverage and answer quality.
- Translate between business and technology to align stakeholders.
- Guide and grow the team; mentor data scientists and engineers.
