Job summary

Binary Defense is seeking a Principal Security Consultant to lead security programs across IT and OT for a strategic enterprise client. This role blends hands-on security operations with governance, driving incident response, vulnerability management, and threat detection.

You will chair cross-functional governance, engage with project managers and leadership, and ensure continuity during IT outsourcing transitions while maintaining a hands-on security delivery posture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security operations, detection, analysis, and incident response.
• Demonstrated ownership of a security program with accountability for outcomes and reporting.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in OT environments.
• Ability to lead cross-functional governance and serve as senior security contact to executive and technical stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to IT service transitions or third-party outsourcing arrangements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical expertise across security operations, detection, analysis, and incident response in IT and OT environments.
• Co-lead the client's Security Operations function with direction and continuity across the operations lifecycle.
• Lead and contribute to IT and OT incident response efforts, including workshops, workflows, and incident response plans.
• Own and lead the client's Vulnerability Management Program end to end, including prioritization and reporting.
• Develop and mature IT and OT threat detections and write SOPs and playbooks for security operations.
• Support development of metrics, reporting, and KPIs/KRIs from security, intelligence, and threat hunting.
• Lead the Security Delivery meetings with project managers, architects, consultants, and leadership.
• Represent security operations in Asset Management Governance and cross-functional alignment.
• Advise on IT outsourcing transitions and third-party service arrangements.
