BWXT is currently seeking a Principal, IT HCM Functional Lead for its Lynchburg, VA location or remote!

The IT Human Capital Management (HCM) Functional Lead is responsible for collaborating with Human Resources (HR), Payroll, and other business function teams to streamline business processes, optimize the use of business information systems, and plan/develop/execute the overall HCM roadmap. This role will support ongoing system and solution enhancements and develop solutions to increase business process efficiency. The role will engage and collaborate with external vendors and systems integrators, and work closely with internal users and stakeholders to identify and understand functional or business requirements and to solve complex business problems that enhance the organization's administrative capabilities and business processes.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Streamlining business processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Current-state analysis, process measurement, future-state design, and business process transformation in current future production information systems including SAP, payroll, timekeeping systems, and other information systems
  • Leading technical and functional teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Developing presentations and emails and presenting to leadership that engage and communicate with internal and external partners
  • Training end-users on new processes and solutions
  • Facilitating meetings with stakeholders, project teams, and external partners
  • Promoting data integrity and solving data consistency issues
  • Providing technical leadership to project delivery teams
  • Collecting, reviewing, and prioritizing business requirements
  • Recommending ways to optimize existing systems
  • Designing technology solutions to meet business requirements
  • Ensuring the integrity of solutions through quality assurance practices
  • Recruiting, developing, and mentoring team members
  • Coordinating and leading external partners and consultants
  • Leading and working together in teams with differing needs towards a shared goal
  • Demonstrating project leadership skills and techniques
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Experience with HR / HCM systems, timekeeping, payroll systems, and ERP including SAP HCM, SuccessFactors, Workday, AutoTime, and Jamis
  • Hands-on experience with HR / HCM and Payroll information systems
  • Experience capturing business requirements, developing solution designs, planning and conducting data migrations, information system harmonization, and portfolio shaping
  • Strong understanding of project, portfolio, organizational change management, waterfall, and agile project management techniques
  • Experience participating with PMO, business steering committee, or similar governance models
  • Excellent in preparing technical and executive level presentations and diagrams
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance

Pay: $85,000 - $134,000

The base salary range for this position in VA at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $134,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
